Our Mission
Most students never encounter biomedical engineering until college, if they encounter it at all. Young Medical Engineers, a nonprofit founded and run by high school students, exists to change that.
Why It Matters
Biomedical engineering is one of the most important fields in modern medicine. It is the work behind prosthetics, medical imaging, implants, and the devices clinicians rely on every day. Our goal is to introduce more students to it while they still have time to pursue it.
We pursue that goal in two ways. First, we make the field visible and engaging through keynote speakers, talks with working engineers, design challenges, and hands-on demonstrations. Second, we support interested students by offering free tutoring in the science and math courses that lead into the field.
Every program we offer is free, and it always will be. The only requirement is to sign up.
